Step 1Register your qualificiation within 14 days with Ponies (UK).  Send the Registration of Qualification” Certificate plus £10.00 and 2008 Full Membership (if not already submitted).  PLEASE SEND TO THE P (UK) OFFICE WITHIN 14 DAYS IN ORDER FOR THE QUALIFICATION TO REMAIN VALID.

Step 2.  Declare your intention to enter the Summer Championships.  Forward Declaration of Entry for the Summer Championships and entry fee to be submitted on the P(UK) Summer Championships Entry Form to confirm participation in the Championship

FINALS TO BE HELD AT:  Newark & Notts Showground, Winthorpe, Newark, Notts 13th – 16th August 2008

EQUIFEST - The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Final to be held at the East of England Showground on the 15th - 17th August 2008.

ROYAL LONDON - The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Royal London to be held at the East of England Showground on the 29th, 30th and 31st August.

 NPS CLASSES

NPS classes to be judged under the rules of the National Pony Society.  The first prize winner in the class will go forward to the final to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in August.  A pony may only qualify once.  Where the first in the class has already qualified, the pony standing next in line which has not qualified will be deemed the qualifier.  Qualifications may only go to 3rd place.

QUALIFING ROUNDS ARE OPEN TO BOTH NPS MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS BUT ONLY THE HIGHEST PLACED NPS ADULT MEMBER (STANDARD OR SHOWING), ON PRODUCTION OF THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD IN THE RING,WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL. NPS ADULT/STANDARD MEMBERS WILL BE  REQUIRED TO UPGRADE TO ADULT/SHOWING TO ENTER THE FINAL .  QUALIFICATION TO GO NO LOWER THAN THIRD PLACE .  QUALIFIED PONIES MUST BE ENTERED INTO THE NPS COMPETITION FINAL WITHIN 14 DAYS FOR THE PONY TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPEAR IN THE FINAL.

Class 1                PUK BLUE CHIP FEED BALANCER RIDDEN COMPETITION SPORT/POTENTIAL DRESSAGE HORSE/PONY CHAMPIONSHIP

Horses and ponies may enter the ring individually and will be judged according to the PUK Great Performance/Competition class rules: Phase 1 - Performance & Freestyle show = 60 marks, Phase 2 - Conformation/Type and Suitability for Dressage = 40 marks.  The individual freestyle show must include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x 60m: Halt, walk on a long rein, 2-looped trot serpentine, extended trot on the diagonal, 2 looped canter serpentine which must include a change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal.  NOT TO EXCEED 2 MINUTES.  Snaffle or double bridles only to be used.  Please see page 40 for a diagram of suitable bits. Spurs may be worn, no change of saddlery will be permitted.

The pony is to be owned and produced & handled by the exhibitor, who must be an adult/standard NPS member and carry their current membership card in the ring.  A pony may only qualify once, where the winner in the class has already qualified, the pony standing next in line which has not qualified will be deemed the qualifier.  Qualification may go no lower than third place.

 

These classes are open to ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1st January 2007 have not been shown by a professional producer or stabled in a professional producer’s yard other than on a DIY basis.  To be owned and produced and handled by an amateur who does not derive income from professional showing of ponies or horses.  Please enter these classes in the spirit they are intended.  A producer is someone who has a pony on their yard to show for the client and therefore has a financial interest not someone who helps in times of necessity.

 

These classes are open to Riding Ponies not exceeding 148cms (14.2 hh) which must be registered in the NPS Riding Pony Study Book, Register or Appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books.  Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS Stud Book, Register or Appendix.

 

NPS/BOYLES FAMILY SHOW PONY IN HAND CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS 1st, and 2nd from above classes to compete

A silver medal rosette is offered by the NPS for the best registered pony in the Show Pony in hand section.  Exhibited by an adult/standard member of the NPS.  (Champion or Reserve Champion only).  A valid membership card must be in the handlers posession on entering the ring and produced in the ring.  To be judged under NPS rules.  Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the NPS Boyles Family Show Pony in hand Champion of Champions final to be held at the NPS summer championship show in Malvern, providing they send to the NPS Secretariat, the relevant entry fee and qualification card provided with the silver medal rosette.  Silver medal rosettes will be awarded to the Champion pony (provided the exhibitor is an adult/standard NPS member) but if that pony has previously qualified then the reserve champion may receive the qualification card (provided that the exhibitor is an adult/standard NPS member).  NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Adult/Showing to enter the final.

 

Class 61              NPS ROSEBERRY STUD SHOW HUNTER PONY BREEDING IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP

Show Hunter pony yearling colt, filly or gelding not to exceed 153cms (15hh) at maturity.

Class 62              NPS ROSEBERRY STUD SHOW HUNTER PONY BREEDING IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP

The Veteran Horse Society Showing Championships are open to both Members & Non-Members of the Veteran Horse Society. Please note that ONLY Veteran Horse Society Members are eligible to compete in the Regional Championship. Qualification cards will ONLY be given to the first 2 Members with their V.H.S. membership/horse registration cards as proof of membership to the Society.  The Regional winners will go on to compete at the Veteran Horse Society Showing Championship Supreme FINAL AT OLYMPIA. Date to be finalized.

FIRST 3 VHS MEMBERS QUALIFY FOR THE V.H.S 2-DAY SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW ON 9TH AND 10TH AUGUST 2008 AT ARENA UK GRANTHAM

Membership to the Society must be received no later than 14 days prior to the Area Qualifier Show.  LATE MEMBERSHIP WILL STRICTLY NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Arabian/TB type, open to any yearling not likely to exceed 34 at maturity, must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member

Class 94              INTERNATIONAL MINATURE HORSE 4 YEARS OLD AND OVER

Arabian/TB type, open to any 4 years or over not exceeding 34 at maturity , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member

Class 95              INTERNATIONAL MINATURE DRAUGHT HORSE YEARLING  2 & 3 YEAR OLD

Any heavy type 2 or 3 year old not likely to exceed 34 at maturity, , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member .   Rosette to best yearling

Open to any heavy type, 4 years old or over not exceeding 34 , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member.

Open to any type and age, not exceeding 34 at maturity , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member.

Class 98              INTERNATIONAL MINATURE COLOURED HORSE

Open to any type and any age, not exceeding 34 at maturity , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member.

Class 99              INTERNATIONAL SMALL STANDARD HORSE

Open to any type, any colour, and spotted, any age.  Must be over 34 but not exceeding 42 at maturity. , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member.

Class 100            International minature stallion 4 years and over

Any type of colour, licensed stallion over 4 years old, not to exceed 34, , must be REGISTERED with IMHPS and owned by a current member.
