This show is a qualifier for the 2012 P (UK) Winter Championship Show. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each qualifying CLASS will qualify. Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of P (UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid. No Qualification cards will be awarded in the ring

 

The BSPS CLASSes are qualifiers for the BSPS Winter Championships Show. In the Open CLASSes the 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall and the three highest placed Restricted animals in each CLASS will qualify, and in the mixed height open CLASSes the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th overall and the four highest placed Restricted animals will qualify (riders on Restricted animals must wear an armband). Animals must be registered before the date of the show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by BSPS Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies, providing they have a valid JMB Certificate before the date of the Championship they qualify for. All rules as per the 2011 BSPS Rule & Show Handbook. All ponies must be four years old and over. Rules for Restricted qualification - any animal that has qualified for the RIHS or HOYS or Olympia in 2011 or the current year is not eligible for the Restricted qualification in the following Open Restricted CLASSes and Open Restricted Heritage CLASSes. In the novice CLASSes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd will qualify and in the mixed height novice the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th will qualify.

 

CHAPS WINTER RULES - Both the owner and the rider of any exhibit need not be fully paid-up members of CHAPS (UK) at the time of competition, nor must the animal be registered; but to validate the qualification, both membership and registration must be applied for within 14 days of the qualification. Send to CHAPS (UK) Admin, 1 Mclaren Cottages, Abertysswg, Rhymney, Tredegar NP22 5BH. All stallions MUST BE graded with CHAPS (UK) in order to compete in these CLASSes. Exhibits not to have qualified for hoys in the current and previous year in which the finals will be held [e.g. for 2012. finals the horse or pony must not have qualifield for HOYS in either 2010 or 2011]

 

EQUIFEST - The Two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Final to be held at the East of England Showground

The individual Freestyle Show to include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x60m. Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop serpentine acceptable), extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. Not to Exceed 2mins.

CLASS 5                CHAPS RIDDEN PIEBALD/SKEWBALD HORSE/PONY WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP From the CLASS four animals qualify from the CLASS placings. non -native horse exceeding 15.0 hh to be shown plaited and trimmed and to perform and to be ridden by the judge at the final.non -native pony 15.0 hh and under to be shown plaited and trimmed and to perform a individual show at the final.

Exhibits to be judged as a riding pony/riding horse. Horses to be ridden at the judges discretion.
