Great Chart Christmas Dressage

ENTRIES: £12.00 per animal per class, entries close on SUNDAY prior to show date as entries can be accepted by bank transfer or most cards via Paypal. For Paypal entries, please email poshnags@aol.com. Dressage times will be on our website www.greatchartshowingsociety.co.uk on the Thursday prior to the show. Late entries may be taken if space allows at £15.00 per class.

 

All classes will take place in the Main Arena with warm up in the small indoor arena

 

Class 1                    BD Walk and Trot Dressage A

 

Class 2                    Champagne Challenge - BD Walk and Trot Dressage B

This fun class is open to any combination – test to be ridden with one hand whilst carrying a glass of 'champagne' in the other! The winner to have the most left in their glass on completion of test!!

 

Class 3                    Preliminary 14 – This class is also a qualifier for the NPS Dressage Championships 2012.

 

Class 4                   Pairs Dressage– please see notes at the bottom of the page for rules – tests available by email from jennybourne@aol.com

 

Class 5                    Novice 28 – This class is also a qualifier for the NPS Dressage Championships 2012.

 

Class 6                    Pick a Test (from Elementary 43, Medium 71, Advanced 100)

 

Sashes to overall winners of each class—rosettes to 6th place.

 

NPS DRESSAGE

he two highest placed ponies in each section at each qualifying show will qualify for the 2011/12 Final.

Sections are open to:-

1. Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds not exceeding 138cm

2. Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds exceeding 138cm

3. Registered British Riding Ponies

4. Part Bred Horses/Ponies registered with their appropriate Native Breed Part Bred Stud Book

         5. Highest placed rider aged under 12 years on 1st January 2010

* Part Bred Native ponies over-stamped within the British Riding Pony Stud Book may only compete in one section per season.

 

Qualifying rounds will be open to everyone from across the UK.

· All qualifiers will receive Sponsors rosettes and cards.

· Horse/ponies must be ridden at the Final by the qualifying rider.

· Those qualifying for the Final must be fully paid up Dressage or Showing members of the NPS for 2011 in order to compete at the 2012 NPS Final.

The Champion winners of each section Final for each Test will be required to perform a 4/5 minute freestyle to Music for the judging of the Overall NPS Supreme Dressage titles.

 

Please Note: The NPS Supreme Dressage Final will run in accordance with the 2010/2011 NPS Dressage Rules which will be available to all NPS Dressage and Showing Members

 

PAIRS DRESSAGE

· Takes place in a 20x40 arena
• Time allowed is 4 minutes
• Horses/ponies must compete as a pair, riding side by side, but may separate during the test.
• The test may be performed in any sequence but must show at least 20m of medium walk and 20m on each rein of working trot and working canter.
• The test may not contain movements above those occurring in current British Dressage Novice Tests, but originality of patterns in the arena is allowed. The rein back is allowed but not compulsory.
• The test starts as the horses enter at A, but the time is taken from the exact moment when the horses move forward after the riders have saluted the judges.
• A warning signal will be given at the end of 3½ minutes and again at 4 minutes, when both horses/ponies must immediately turn onto the centre line and half.
• Riders must salute the judges and ride out of the arena at walk leaving at A
• Failure to complete the test will not incur time faults but will be taken into consideration when marking the artistic merit.
• There are no errors of course and the bell MUST NOT BE SOUND should one of the riders make an obvious mistake, but point may be deducted when marking the artistic merit.
• Should either of both horses/ponies leave the arena during the test. Points should be deducted under the submission mark, unless the arena surround is 9 inches or more in height and continuous around the entire arena, when both are eliminated.

 

RULES & NOTES:

All classes will be judged under BD Rules and you must use suitable tack – non plaiting is acceptable at this show.

Any breed/type of horse/pony may enter any class.
