QUALIFICATION OPEN TO P (UK) MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS OF P(UK) TO VALIDATE YOUR QUALIFICATION, COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE:

Step 1Register your qualificiation within 14 days with Ponies (UK).  Send the Registration of Qualification” Certificate plus £10.00 and 2008 Full Membership (if not already submitted).  PLEASE SEND TO THE P (UK) OFFICE WITHIN 14 DAYS IN ORDER FOR THE QUALIFICATION TO REMAIN VALID.

Step 2.  Declare your intention to enter the Summer Championships.  Forward Declaration of Entry for the Summer Championships and entry fee to be submitted on the P(UK) Summer Championships Entry Form to confirm participation in the Championship

FINALS TO BE HELD AT:  Newark & Notts Showground, Winthorpe, Newark, Notts 13th – 16th August 2008

EQUIFEST - The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Final to be held at the East of England Showground on the 15th - 17th August 2008.

ROYAL LONDON - The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Royal London to be held at the East of England Showground on the 29th, 30th and 31st August.

09.00am        Large Indoor School - Unaffiliated classes £10 per class - Affiliated £12 per class

 

Class 1  **       Lead rein/assisted working hunter (bottom hole) - a short course of fences followed by individual show.

 

Class 2  **       Beginners working hunter (fences 1’6” max) - a short course of fences followed by individual show.

 

Class 3   **      Working hunter horse or pony (fences 2’ - 2’3” max) - a short course followed by individual show.

P(UK) Zenith Working Hunter Championship - Working horse/pony, stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, riders any age.  These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly.  The one highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first six places will receive a ‘Registration of Qualification’ Certificate in the ring.

Method of Judging:

1       Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts.

2       Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10 at the judge’s discretion.

3       There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination.

4       Fall of horse or rider will result in elimination.

5       There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for overall impression at the completion of each round.

6       In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine the final placings.  Should there still be a tie of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration, the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved.

 

Class 4         Junior Zenith.  Not exceeding 133cms.  Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st Jan in the current year, maximum height of fences 68cms (2’”).

 

Class 5         Zenith M&M Working Pony, maximum height of fences 71cms (2’4”)

 

Class 6         Zenith Working Horse/Pony, maximum height of fences 76cms (2’4”)

 

Class 7         Zenith Working Horse/Pony, maximum height of fences 92cms (2’9)

 

Class 8          EQIFEST WORKING HUNTER judged as a single class, ponies to jump within their height sections.  Qualifiers to each height section.

 

· PONIES NOT EXCEEDING 122cm - Fences 64cms max

· PONIES EXCEEDING 122cms  BUT NOT EXCEEDING 138cms - Fences 84cms max

· PONIES EXCEEDING 138cms - Fences 94cms max

The highest placed exhibit not already qualified within the first six places will receive a Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the ring

 

Class 10       P(UK) POLLYANNA HOME PRODUCED RIDDEN HACK/HORSE/HUNTER/ COB CHAMPIONSHIP

To be owned, produced & led by the owner/spouse or his/her son/daughter/grandchild

Open Ridden Hack/Riding Horse/Hunter/Cob, stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over exceding 148cms. Rider any age.  Exhibits in these classes will not be ridden by the judge and will be required to give an individual display.

The highest placed exhibit from each section will receive a Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the ring, i.e. highest placed Hack/highest placed Hunter etc.

 

Class 11       PUK POLLYANNA HOME PRODUCED RIDDEN M&M SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP

Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, registered in the pure bred stud books of Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Welsh A, B, C & D,  Dartmoor, Exmoor, Sheltand.  To be owned, produced & ridden by the owner/spouse or his/her son/daughter/grandchild.  The highest placed exhibit not already qualified within the first six places will receive a Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the ring

 

Class 12       EQIFEST AND ROYAL LONDON M&M SMALL BREEDS

Class 19       Walk and Trot Dressage (lead rein permitted) - see website for test (Sunshine Tour Qualifier to highest place non led exhibit)

 

Class 20       First Ridden Dressage (novice riders any age not to have won any dressage other than walk and trot) see website for test.

Class 21       PUK Mountain & Moorland Dressage - Prelim Test No. 14 (need not be members)

Open to stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, registered with their respective pure breed societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forst, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C & D.  Riders any age.

The two highest placed junior competitors 16 years and under as at 1st January in the current year within the first six places will receive a ‘Registration of Qualification’ certificate in the ring.

The two highest placed senior competitors over 16 years as at 1st January in the current year within the first six places will receive a ‘Rgistration of Qualification’ Certificate in the ring.  (This class is also a Sunshine Tour Qualifier).

Class 22       PUK Junior Dressage - Prelim Test No. 10 (need not be members)

Junior riders not to have attained their 18th Birthday before 1st January in the current year.  The two highest placed competitors not already qualified within the first six places will receive a ‘Registration of Qualification’ Certificate in the ring.  (This class is also a Sunshine Tour Qualifier).

Class 23       PUK Senior Dressage- Novice Test No. 30 (need not be members)

Senior Riders 18 years and over as at 1st January in the current year The TWO highest placed competitors not already qualified within the first six places will receive a 'Registration of Qualification' Certificate in the ring.  (This class is also a Sunshine Tour Qualifier).

Classes 21, 22 and 23 will be qualifiers for the Veteran Horse Society Dressage Series.  The highest placed VHS Dressage Member in a class in the usual age sections (Pre-Veteran 15-19yrs, Veteran 20-24 years and Veteran Plus 25 yrs & over) will qualify.

To register for the VHS dressage series you need to fill in the application form which is available on this site For one year membership will be within 14 days after the qualification has been given, therefore qualification may go to a non-member, this is experimental for one year and members will be informed of any changes for 2009 via the website.

Class 36       EQUIFEST AND ROYAL LONDON  M&M LEAD REIN - Leading Rein Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

LEAD REIN CHAMPIONSHIP
